As we pulled up to 100 Queensgate, I was immediately in awe of the stunning building, decorated with festive wreaths and baubles, it looked so luxurious and inviting. The staff welcomed us in, taking our luggage off our hands and up to our room whilst we checked in. The kids, as you can imagine were very excitable after 4 hours in the car, which didn’t seem to phase the lovely receptionist, she chatted away to them with a big smile on her face. There is a really lovely, deluxe atmosphere in the lobby at 100 Queensgate, giving you that feeling you desire when walking in to a hotel; welcomed, relaxed and ready for a prosecco!
The hotel is ideally located in the centre of London, in the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea; a few minutes walk from Hyde walk, Kensington Gardens and Knightsbridge. If you’re looking for a luxuriously unique stay in a stylish city spot, this former home of Victorian aristocrat William Alexander is the perfect spot for you.
As I walked up to see our room, I had to stop and take pictures of the restaurants and side rooms, they have been designed so beautiful and elegantly. The Botanica, a glamorous dining area where you can book in for afternoon tea, a truly special place where you can enjoy a personal, gastronomical experience. The W/A bar (after William Alexander) is an all day brasserie offering modern European cuisine and a fabulous selection of drinks. We enjoyed a couple of refreshing cocktails before heading out for the evening, the service and atmosphere was just perfect.
We had adjoining rooms, a double for ourselves and a twin room for the kids, both as comfortable, spacious and luxurious as eachother. We ordered some bubbles up and enjoyed the comfort and modern elegance of our rooms. All amenities you could possibly need were on hand; Nespresso coffee machine, flat screen TV, gowns and White Company lotions plus the added luxury of room service on speed dial.
Lets talk breakfast…wow, what a heavenly breakfast we had at 100 Queensgate. The juices, fruit, fresh pastries and muffins, followed by a hot buffet which was absolutely divine – I could have stayed in that window seat all day grazing on the selection of fresh food laid out. The breakfast also got a 5 star rating from the kids, fresh apple juice and chocolate chip muffins set them up for a day of exploring in our beautiful Capital City.
