A beautiful, luxurious beach hotel with an enviable location, set on the exquisite Polzeath beach, (literally on the beach!) just a 2 minute walk and you’re making footprints in the sand. The most incredible location for a family so make some gorgeous memories in the enchanting North Cornwall, with endless views over the Atlantic, this hotel is a like something straight out of a dream!
We arrived at Polzeath Beach House and couldn’t quite believe how gorgeous the hotel looked, with the sun shining over and the beautiful blue sky behind, it looked like pure paradise! We were met with the most warm, friendly, wonderful welcome by Helen and the team, making us feel like we had just walked in to our second home (we wish)!
As you walk through the hotel you enter through to the stunning Atlantic Kitchen & Bar, a beautiful open plan, laid back bar and restaurant with a large terrace where you have the most spectacular views over Polzeath beach, truly breathtaking. We enjoyed a few really fantastic meals here, so well catered for the children too, their personal favourite was the super cheesy pepperoni pizzas and chocolate ice cream sundaes (as you can imagine)! The menu was fantastic, lots of scrumptious sea food small plates and delicious pastas, highly recommend the mussel linguine!
Take a few steps outside and you’ll be met with an enchanting, winding coastal path where you can let the kids run free, safely down to a huge, fantastic sandy beach. The beach is absolutely stunning and so perfect for the kids – with small little rock pools they can paddle through and search for sea creatures and shells, it is so glorious to watch them role play down by the beach. The perfect spot for picnicking, sporting activities and family fun – and why not visit the local surfing school, Wavehunters, for a lesson? The hotel can set all of this up for you, such a special experience for all, especially the children!
The hotel hosts a beautiful selection of hotel rooms and sea view apartments, perfect for family living, exquisitely decorated but with a real cosy, family feel with open plan living and fully equipped kitchens. I was absolutely taken back by the views from the master bedroom they are truly something special, watching the ocean from your room makes for such a relaxing, calm feel throughout the apartment. We had everything we needed in our apartment and more, if you wanted to sit and have a lovely, relaxing meal it would be just perfect. We couldn’t resist staying away from the Atlantic bar and restaurant but if you wanted to have a night in you’d have no problem finding all you needed in the room for a luxurious night in!
We also enjoyed a fab hearty breakfast at the Atlantic bar, fluffy pancakes with bananas and syrup for the little ones and a delicious gourmet mushroom and eggs for myself on sourdough – yummy! All set for a day of exploring, we visited the nearby town of Port Isaac; Port Isaac is such a dream, a new stunning view at every turn, we pottered around the shops and got a large Cornish cream ice cream – a must for a day out when visiting the beach house!
Our time at Polzeath Beach House felt like pure luxury, there is a real sense of family, such a warm, friendly and calm feel, from the contempory décor, unbelievably friendly and fantastic staff and unbelievable views. There is no doubt that we will be back here, this isn’t a hotel you only visit once, a very special place that we could not recommend highly enough, just wonderful, thank you Polzeath Beach House!
