A great, 6k, pushchair friendly walk with some beautiful resting spots & stunning views
Nestled in the gorgeous Washburn Valley, less than 10 miles west of Harrogate, Swinsty is brilliant for a family walk.
Roughly 6km long, the whole walk is pushchair and toddler friendly. There is a large car park and toilet facilities and if you’re lucky in the Summer – the ice cream van may even be there! If your little one has a trike/bicycle this would be an ideal little route for them.
There are some really cute and quirky little spots on your way round which the kids loved to explore. We also spotted a gaggle of geese and some very friendly ducks. After crossing the large bridge (where you get the most exquisite views from both sides), is a wonderful rocky beach. Harry enjoyed throwing the rocks in to the reservior whilst I sat behind taking in the stunning, picturesque views and listening to the calm water.
A little while on you will come across a lovely little picnic area so you can finish off with a bite to eat.
A perfect little family trip out in Yorkshire.
